5.4 Meeting Terraces

what is it?

The shaded grove to the north and east of the building form a natural amphitheater above the creek. During a good portion of the year, these meeting terraces will provide a beautiful space for outdoor break-out groups. The terraces and seating are to be constructed of local soils stabilized with fly ash and reclaimed/recycled lumber.

why is it important?

Currently in the base bid for the building, there is no money allocated for outdoor spaces, paths or landscaping of any kind. Including these meeting terraces would provide for outdoor informal gatherings for visitor and staff alike, connecting the outdoors to the building and increasing the versatility of the conference space / community room.
